  2. Remove the cap from the Protopic tube, and then squeeze a small amount of the medication onto your fingertip.

  3. Apply a thin layer of Protopic to the affected area(s) of skin, and then gently rub it in until it is absorbed. Be sure to cover the affected area(s) completely.

  4. Wash your hands after applying Protopic, unless you are treating your hands.

  5. Apply Protopic twice a day, approximately 12 hours apart, unless your doctor has directed you otherwise.

  6. Do not use Protopic on any areas of skin that are infected.

  7. Avoid exposure to sunlight, sunlamps, and tanning beds, and wear protective clothing and sunscreen when outdoors.

  8. Do not cover the treated area(s) of skin with bandages, dressings, or other occlusive dressings.

  9. If you miss a dose of Protopic, apply it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your regular dosing schedule.
